OM brought out a second version in 2022. The Mk II offers the same optical design but it offers improved weather resistance with an IP53 rating, 'ZERO' optical coatings and fluorine water-repelling coating on the front element. Autofocus (AF) is driven via OM System’s Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) AF system, which aims benefits both photo and video shooters with claims of 'smooth, quiet and fast performance.

This is my least used Olympus lens since I prefer the 12-100 f4. That lens offers me a greater range, is extremely sharp at all focal lengths and is only a stop slower. I also prefer the Panasonic 12-60 f2.8-4.0 lens. I could probably sell the lens if I could fins a good offer for it.
