From the striking fjords to the picturesque fishing villages, a journey with Hurtigruten offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural wonders of Scandinavia.
The Hurtigruten route spans over 1,250 kilometres, making multiple stops at various ports, including Trondheim, Bodø, and Tromsø. Passengers can enjoy a range of activities such as spotting whales, hiking in the dramatic mountains, or simply indulging in the stunning views from the ship's decks. Each voyage is meticulously designed to showcase Norway's breathtaking scenery and vibrant local life.
Onboard, you can expect comfortable accommodation and delicious meals featuring locally sourced ingredients. The blend of modern comforts and traditional Norwegian hospitality ensures that whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, your needs are catered for. With various excursion options available, your time with Hurtigruten can be tailored to suit your interests, from exploring historic sites to engaging with local communities.
Hurtigruten is not just about the journey; it's also an opportunity to learn about Norway's history, culture, and sustainability initiatives. The ships are eco-conscious, striving to minimise their environmental impact and protect the stunning landscapes they navigate. This commitment makes Hurtigruten a responsible choice for conscious travellers.
Whether you are travelling solo, with family, or seeking a romantic getaway, the Hurtigruten service provides a memorable way to explore Norway's majestic coastline. Experience the adventure of a lifetime and create cherished memories aboard one of the most scenic routes in the world.
The reason why the Hurtigruten Service is mentioned above is because that is exactly the trip we did. It was done during the winter season for two reasons. Firstly we wanted to see the Northern Lights (not guaranteed) and secondly we didn't want to do the trip in a ship crammed full with passengers. There is one thing to remember when doing the trip during this season and that is the cold. It's actually bloody freezing at that time of year in Norway.
If I did this again, it would definitely be in the summer (even if the ship was full). You get the warm weather, you can get into the fjords, and there is simply more scenery for the tourist.
