Our journey from Frankfurt to Kassel, both located in the beautiful state of Hessen, Germany, took us along scenic country roads. We intentionally avoided the motorways to fully immerse ourselves in the charm of the region. Along the way, we stopped in several picturesque villages and towns, allowing us to truly appreciate their unique offerings and character.
In addition to the enchanting villages, we also discovered the rich cultural heritage of Hessen. This region is steeped in history, with notable landmarks such as castles, museums, and historical sites dotting the landscape. Each stop unveiled fascinating stories of the past, from the grandeur of the Wilhelmshöhe Palace in Kassel to the medieval charm of the town of Marburg. By embracing the cultural aspects of our journey, we gained deeper insights into Hessen's significance in Germany's history, making our trip not just about the scenic views, but also a fulfilling excursion into the heart and soul of the region.
Below are some images taken during the trip. Equipment used was the Fuji X-T1 and the XF 55-200 f3.5-4.8 lens which was not used extensively on this trip. On more than one occasion I used the Fuji X100T as it was small and handy in the hand. What was used extensively on the trip was the X-T10 mounting the Fuji XF 18-55 f2.8-4.0 kit lens; and what an extraordinary kit lens it is. Very capable lens and one of the very best kit lenses of all time (in my opinion).
