Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 ASPH OIS

The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 ASPH OIS is a versatile zoom lens designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras. With a focal length range equivalent to 24-64mm in 35mm terms, it is perfect for a variety of photography styles, from wide-angle landscapes to crisp portraits. The lens features a maximum aperture of f3.5 at the wide end to f5.6 at the telephoto end, allowing for good performance in different lighting conditions.

Thanks to the built-in Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), this lens effectively minimises the effects of camera shake, which is particularly beneficial when shooting in low light or at longer zoom distances. Its compact and lightweight design, weighing just 210 grams, makes it an ideal choice for photographers on the go, allowing for easy transportation without compromising on quality.

The lens incorporates aspherical elements and multiple lens coatings to enhance sharpness and reduce distortion and flare. This results in images that are not only sharp but also vibrant and true to life. The 12-32mm lens is equipped with a smooth and silent autofocus mechanism, providing quick and precise focusing, which is particularly advantageous for capturing spontaneous moments.

Whether you are a professional photographer looking for a reliable workhorse or an enthusiast wanting to improve your skills, the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 ASPH OIS offers an excellent balance of performance and portability. Together with its sister lens, the 35-100 f4-5.6, it is my most used lens. I have taken literally thousands of photographs with this lens. Whenever I go say on a sailing holiday the last thing you want is a huge camera with huge lenses. A GM5 and this lens covers most of the focal lengths you will need, not all but most.
